The Keeper's House will be open to visitors every Monday through Friday from June 1st to August 28th and on those Saturdays when the Lighthouse is open for visitors (June 13, July 11 and August 8).

Our regularly scheduled hours are from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Sunday, March 21 - OCHS Spring meeting, The Island House, Port Clinton, 12:00 PM, Sunday Brunch, The Black Swamp Doctor will speak. April:

Wednesday, April 7th -  Keeper's House Steering Committee Meeting, home of Phil and Joyce Edwards, 7:00 PM

Saturday, April 24, - Clean-Up-Day at The Keeper's House, 10:00 am until squeaky clean!  See you there with broom in hand!   

May

Saturday, May 8 -   Lakeside Daisy Days, Keeper's House open 10 am to 3 pm for tours.   Gift shop and museum open  well.  Music at 11:00 a.m. by the Brick Street Strummers (hammered dulcimer group)

July

Saturday, July 10 - Music in The Firelands, Noon to 3 pm.  Deserts: homemade pies, brownies and ice cream.  Strings of Glory, (hammered dulcimer and zither) play 12:00 to 2:00 pm. 2pm concert by the 65 piece North Coast Concert Band .  BYO lawn chair.  Open house tours.   Gift Shop/Museum open. Activities all day, 10am to 4 pm.  APOLOGIES FOR CANCELLATION OF THE NORTH COAST CONCERT BAND JULY 11TH of 2009: after 11 years the weather finally got to us.  Be there next year, the Band has already been re-scheduled for the second Saturday in July, 2010, 2pm!

August: 

Wednesday, August 25, 2010 - Ottawa County Historical Society annual pot-luck picnic at The Keeper's House, hearth cooking demonstration at 4:30 pm, picnic dinner at 5:pm - remember its POT-LUCK.

Saturday, October 9 - The Lighthouse Festival,   Music, bean soup, corn bread & more.  A variety of activities for the whole family.  Gift Shop open. Pioneer and Civil War Music. Civil War Encampment Friday evening throughout Saturday, "Honoring Henry Wolcott."    

November

Sunday, November 14th, 2010 - Annual Meeting and election of officers, brunch at the Catawba Island Club, 12:30 pm.  Our speaker will be Blanca Stransky, Superintendant of the National Park Service, Perry's Monument and International Peace Memorial.  She will be discussing the up-coming bicentennial of the War of 1812.  OCHS plans for the bicentennial will be revealed at that time!  You don't want to miss this one!!
